Who we are
Gratitude Jar ("the app", "we") is a mobile application for keeping a personal gratitude journal and sharing gratitude postcards. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are. Contact: gratitudejar.team@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and a unique identifier, provided when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email. With Sign in with Apple you may hide your real email.
- Your content — gratitude entries, photos you attach, postcards you create, and app settings (language, reminders, preferences).
- Technical data — basic diagnostic information needed for the app to function. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics that profile you.
How we use it
- To store your journal and sync it across your devices.
- To deliver postcards you choose to share via a link.
- To send the local reminders you set up (these never leave your device).
Postcards and sharing
When you create a postcard and share its link, anyone with that link can claim the postcard in their app. Share links only with people you trust. A postcard contains only the content you put on it.
Where data is stored
Your data is stored in a secure cloud database (Supabase) protected by row-level security: your entries are technically accessible only to your account. Photos are stored in cloud storage tied to your account.
Your rights
- Access & export — you can export your data from the app settings.
- Deletion — you can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account). This permanently removes your entries, photos and account data from our servers.
- Questions — email us at gratitudejar.team@gmail.com for any privacy request.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
